When is it?

Giving Day is a 50-hour event, starting at 12pm Wednesday 15 October and finishing 3pm Friday 17 October. You can find us online here www.rgsgivingday.co.uk.

What is the RGS Giving Day for?

To raise funds for intellectually bright local boys, full of potential, who lack only one thing ... the funds to take up their RGS places.

What are bursaries?

We have two types of bursary at the RGS – both are rigorously means-tested financial awards for boys who could not afford to attend the RGS without financial assistance. Entrance bursaries are awarded to boys who have already been offered an RGS place, but who need financial assistance to take it up. We also have an Emergency Hardship Fund for RGS boys whose families have fallen into crisis - usually death divorce or redundancy - and require support to stay on at the RGS through their immediate next academic step, for example GCSEs or A-level.

Why give on the day?

Your gift will unlock match-funding that will mean all gifts made will be increased at no cost to yourself.

What else can I do?

Tell your friends, peers and RGS network about Giving Day using social media, email, phone and in person #RGSGivingDay

Ambassadors If you are prepared to regularly share news and updates on the day, you can become a Giving Day Ambassador. We’ll give you the messages and content and let you know when to send them… so all you need to do is hit send. Interested? Email rgsfoundation@rgsg.co.uk.

Gift aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, the RGS Foundation can claim your tax back so for every £100 you gift, we can claim an additional £25 at no cost to you..* (This is money that would otherwise go to the taxman).

However you choose to donate, please Gift Aid. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, you can also claim back the difference between higher rate (40%) and basic rate tax (20%) on the value of your gross donation (ie the amount you donate plus the Gift Aid).
